The Rota
Below is the list of beautiful courses we have played over the years.
Charlevoix
Belvedere Golf Club
Long recognized as a must-play experience in northern Michigan, the historic Belvedere Golf Club turns back the clock for purists and golf aficionados alike who want to experience the game the way it was meant to be played. The classic William Watson design has long been a favorite of many golf greats, including legends Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen, Gene Sarazen, and five-time British Open winner Tom Watson.
Gaylord
Treetops - Smith Threetops
Treetops’ nine-hole par 3 course is the first course ever designed by Rick Smith, who has gone on to design some of the best in the country. Why wouldn’t that be the case, as Threetops is also widely recognized by multiple publications as the #1 par 3 course in the country, and for good reason. Keep that camera handy because photo-worthy vistas are the rule, not the exception. Do not come to Treetops without carving out 90 minutes to play this gem…you’ll be glad you did.
Petosky
Crooked Tree
The finest golf courses don't claim their environment: they embrace it. Crooked Tree Golf Club clearly reflects that mandate. Carved through stands of centuries-old hardwood, and perched on bluffs high above Little Traverse Bay, the fairways of the first nine holes are lined by old-growth trees - creating stunning sightlines from one hole to the next. The course is characterized by undulating greens that require careful, consistent putts for par.
Kewadin
The Torch at A-Ga-Ming
The original 18 holes at A-Ga-ming (renamed in 2005 for the famous lake that the course overlooks) have been re-routed to make for a more enjoyable round. Torch is situated majestically on the ridges offering spectacular views of Torch Lake and the surrounding countryside. Playing nearly 6,700 yards from the tips, Torch is a challenging shot-makers course that favors accuracy over length. Water comes into play on the 11 of the holes, as do mature stands of woods throughout the golf course. Torch is known as one of the most scenic golf courses in all of northern Michigan.
Gaylord
Treetops - Jones Masterpiece
When Masterpiece opened in 1987, Golf Digest named it the second-best new course in the country. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed it with deep ravines, plentiful sand traps, tough pin placements, numerous water hazards, and constant elevation changes. The Masterpiece is widely considered the most challenging course at Treetops; some say it’s the most challenging in Michigan. Take time on each green to look back at the fairway, as this course is almost as beautiful backwards as it is forward. In fact, RTJ, Sr. drafted a design that routed this course in the exact reverse of what you see today.
Kewadin
The Sundance Course
at A-Ga-Ming
Sundance opened to rave reviews in June 2005. Nestled on glacier-carved bluffs between Torch Lake and Grand Traverse Bay, Sundance exemplifies the extraordinary natural beauty of northwest Michigan with views of both Torch Lake to the east and Lake Michigan to the west. With wide, playable fairways, superbly sculpted greens, vast windswept bunkers, heather-clad mounding and spectacular vistas, Sundance will delight the scratch golfer or a newly fledged beginner. Sundance has quickly become one of the premier golf courses in northern Michigan.
Gaylord
Treetops - Fazio Premiere
As the only golf course in Michigan designed by Tom Fazio, Premier is a special treat for Michigan golfers. With rolling fairways and just a single water hazard, it’s player-friendly. On the other hand, with steep slopes and plenty of dogleg turns, Premier still challenges even the most seasoned players. Each hole presents its own challenge and beauty. In fact, when Tom Fazio was asked to name a signature hole, he replied “all of them.”
Charlevoix
Dunmaglas
Tucked away in the scenic woods of Northern Michigan, Dunmaglas is quietly becoming known as one of the best golf courses in the country. Sheltered from distractions, Dunmaglas provides a pure and unspoiled golfing experience. Ranked as one of the Best 50 Upscale Courses in the United States by Golf Digest, this 6,897-yard masterpiece features 18 of the most scenic and breathtaking holes you will ever play.

Antrim
Antrim Dells
For more than 30 years, The Dells has been one of Northern Michigan's favorite courses to play. This classic Jerry Matthews design surrounds the golfer with natural beauty and spectacular views. The front nine features a beautiful parkland setting with acres of mowed grass, which allows a smooth transition into the woods and creeks of the back nine. Host of Michigan's amateur championship for several years, The Dells is truly a fair and fun test of golf.
Gaylord
Gaylord Golf Club
Founded in 1924, Gaylord Golf Club is one of northern Michigan’s oldest golf clubs. The club moved to its new location just west of Gaylord in 1975. This semi-private club meanders through the hills and hardwoods and features private club conditions, strategic bunkering and arguably the best green complexes found in northern Michigan.
Unlike today’s modern golf courses, which can take more time to play, Gaylord Golf Club is a classic parkland design reminiscent of the early 20th century courses featuring close proximity from greens to tees and a variety of designed holes allowing for a more enjoyable round in less time.
